Which poker sites offer mobile poker?

I’ve checked PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet and haven’t had any luck yet. These are all the biggest poker sites and none of them offer mobile poker. I’m sure we’ll see it from one of these poker sites soon but that day still rests in the future.

In the meantime, my suggestion to you is to go ahead and create an account at Ultimate Bet and play through a normal computer. For now, the most “mobile” you’re going to get is logging in on your laptop. This probably isn’t the answer you were hoping for but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ultimate Bet mobile make a comeback sometime soon.

Mobile poker has always been an interesting idea but it’s a risky proposition. Phones such as the iPhone are making it easier for people to do more on the go, but cell phones do have limitations. In particular is the size of the screen. Would people really want to hunch over a small phone screen and play poker for real money? Maybe. It’s hard telling and that’s why it’s a risk.

Considering the fact that Ultimate Bet once offered a mobile download of its software, it would be a safe bet that they will offer it again in the future. Nobody knows when this will be but as time passes, it becomes more and more likely. Mobile gaming will only continue to grow in popularity as more people buy advanced cell phones and get hooked up with unlimited data plans.

About Poker2Nite

There’s not another show on TV like Poker2Nite. The shows covers all sorts of things from recent tournament results to the legal status of online poker in the United States. The show’s two hosts are successful poker players and offer their own takes on the happening in the poker world.

My Take on Poker2Nite

Overall, it’s a cool poker show. It gets a little old watching tournaments all day on TV so it’s nice to see a poker show that offers something completely different. The hosts are on target with most of their comments and are good at finding great poker players for interviews. Dana Workman and Lacey Jones look beautiful every episode and that definitely doesn’t hurt anything.

I’m still a bigger fan of getting my poker news online but Poker2Nite does a nice job. I think it does a great job introducing casual players to some of the finer aspects of the game. If you have a little free time, you should check it out. At the very least, Poker2Nite will keep you entertained.

UltimatePoints are earned in cash games at a rate that depends on the limits you play. At the lowest limits, you will earn 1 UltimatePoint for every 20 raked hands. At the highest limits, you will earn 2 UltimatePoints for every 1 raked hand.

In tournaments, 1 UltimatePoint is earned for every $0.30 paid in tournament fees. For example, a $3.00 + $0.30 tournament will net you 1 UltimatePoint. Fractional points are not given out – instead they are saved and rolled over to the next tournament.

The rules of Ultimate Bet reload bonuses are pretty standard and don’t contain any predatory clauses. A few rules that you might find useful are as follows:

• You get 60 days to clear each bonus. After that time passes, you lose any pending bonus dollars. Bonus dollars that you have already cleared are still yours.

The no-download version also comes in handy if you’re on the go and don’t want to download the actual Ultimate Bet software to the computer you’re using at the moment. The experience is surprisingly complete and the no-download option looks just like the normal UB software.

Ultimate Bet No Download Review

I usually don’t expect much from instant play poker software but I was actually impressed with the experience offered by the Ultimate Bet no download option. It took about 30 seconds to load after clicking the link and it opened the poker lobby in a separate browser window.

The browser window looked exactly like the Ultimate Bet software, complete with ring games, tournaments and SNGs all listed in the poker lobby. I was able to scroll through the games and choose tables in the same manner as in the normal UB software. Overall, I was impressed with the quality and functionality of the no-download option. Internet applications have apparently come a long ways since the days of the first online poker sites.

Missing Features

I didn’t notice any missing features when I played on the UB instant play software but the Ultimate Bet website states that the following features aren’t available in the no-download version:

• 20 tables at a time
• Hotkey shortcuts
• Cascading / tiling tables
• Different table views
• Favorite seat
• Multi-player blackjack

The only one of these features that I would really notice if I played on the no-download option all the time would be the maximum number of tables. The current instant play software only allows players a maximum of three tables at a time. If you need to play many tables at a time, the no-download option probably isn’t a good idea anyways. Hardcore multi-tabling should be reserved for the home computer where you can sit down and really concentrate on the games – not when you’re sitting cramped up in the office looking for a quick game on the no-download version of UB.

Get Started with the Ultimate Bet No-Download Software

For some stupid reason, the no-download link is hard to find on the Ultimate Bet website. You can find it by going to one of two places:

1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where all the tiny links are listed in the footer of the website. One of those links is titled “Instant Play.” Click that link and you’ll be taken to a page where you can get started.

2. On the top of the UB home page, there is a yellow navigation bar. On the left side of that bar, you’ll see a blue “download” link. Click on that link and you’ll be taken to a page where you can choose between the PC download, Mac download and instant play options.

It doesn’t matter if you win the showdown or just bluff everyone out of the pot. As long as you take the pot down with the worst hand in poker, you win the side pot. That’s where things get crazy. At Seven Deuce tables, you’ll see players doing anything they can to win with 7-2. You’ll also see players call massive bets, thinking it’s just another guy trying to bluff the pot with 7-2.

Sometimes you’ll see players with legitimate hands trying to get everyone thinking they have the cards 7-2. And don’t be surprised if the board comes down 7-2-2 and several people try to take the pot at the same time. Do any of them actually have 7-2 or are they all bluffing? That’s up to you to decide.

The side pot really isn’t even that big. Sure, it comes in handy when you win it, but it won’t make or break your bankroll. Some people consider the bragging rights and entertainment value the greatest reward. In any case, the side bet definitely changes the game.

You really need to at least give the Seven Deuce tables at Ultimate Bet at least one try. The additional side pot adds new dimensions to the game that will expand your mind and teach you to think in new ways. The mind games you play with your opponents grow at least one level deeper with the Seven-Deuce side bet. This is one of my favorite Ultimate Bet promotions.

Getting Started

If you don’t already have an account at Ultimate Bet, you can visit the UB website and download the software to get started. Once you have the software installed and downloaded, you can then create an account. Make sure you use the referral code UBCASH2010 when asked for it. That referral code will make sure you receive a 111% deposit bonus when you make your first deposit.

Once you have an account at UB, you can find the Seven Deuce tables by opening the software, logging in and visiting the poker lobby. In the cash games section, each table is listed with certain icons next to it that explain special features of the tables. The Seven Deuce tables are marked with a small icon that has the number “72” on it.

When you find a table at the appropriate stakes with a “72” icon next to it, you can join it like any other table. You’ll then contribute a little to the side pot and start playing like normal. Any time you catch the hole cards 7-2, do anything you can to win the pot. But be careful – if you run into a real hand you just might be in for a world of pain. Good luck!
